Lisa received a Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Parks and Tourism and a Master of Science in Journalism, both from West Virginia University. Lisa loves her West Virginia Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers, and she's never backed down from a dance-off. When she's not writing, editing, photographing or feeding her Photoshop addiction, you can probably find her on the water, looking at the water, or dreaming about her future house...on the water. Lisa is often referred to as being a bourgie hippie with gypsy tendencies, and she doesn't mind.

Beliefs
At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.
This disclosure is not a license for me to inject my beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: I hope that the knowledge that my beliefs are on the record will cause me to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that I failed in this mission, please let me know.
Politics -- How would you describe you political beliefs?
I'd like to call myself an independent, but I tend to vote liberal. I love a good debate, and I will consider both sides of an issue.
Religion -- How religious would you consider yourself?
Although I don't consider myself to be religious, I respect those who are. I don't believe there is any one religion that is "right," but I do believe that the truth lies in a combination of different religions.
Local Hot-Button Issues -- What do you think are the most important issues facing the community?
I think the most important issues facing Chantilly right now are traffic congestion, immigration and health care reform. Small businesses are abundant in Chantilly, and issues like immigration and health care reform can have a great impact on their success.
