Motion Picture Institute is the oldest, most reputable film school in the Midwest - now in our 14th year. 

We are a film school founded by filmmakers for filmmakers. Our intensive, comprehensive curriculum consists of screenwriting, directing, editing, cinematography, production management, script supervising and continuity, as well as production lab where our students learn the technical side of filmmaking including lights and lighting, cameras and camera operating, capturing and mixing audio, etc.

MPI is a one-year film school (designed in the models of both a trade school and an art school).

Our hands-on program; our knowledgeable, skilled, staff of industry professionals; our flexible class schedules; and our small class sizes (20-25 students per class) draw students from all over the world. 

Academically speaking our program is competitive. As the film industry is competitive and requires both skill and dedication, we look for this type of potential in our candidates.
