Nelson Lewis, Neighbor

Nelson Lewis is an experienced media strategist and an active figure within Georgia-area conservative media. He has previously worked as a booker for Fox News and on-air talent for "Greta Live" and "On The Record With Greta Susteran," and further served as a producer for "The Laura Ingraham Show." While Nelson's experience has primarily been in politically-based media, he is perhaps best-known for his recurring role on Southern Charm Savannah, a reality show centering on socialites in his home city. Currently, Nelson has reframed his professional focus to center on Newsvesting, a platform which distills investment strategy from current events in politics and business.

Nelson Lewis credits his interest in conservative politics to his grandfather and mentor, J. Curtis Lewis Jr., who served as the first Republican mayor of a city in Georgia following Reconstruction when he was elected as mayor of Savannah in 1966.

Outside of his work, Nelson has interests in aviation, international travel, deep sea fishing, foreign languages, snow skiing, politics, piano and all things journalism. Traveling often and being exposed to a wide variety of cultures and languages that have provided the influence for his interest in domestic and foreign policy, which in turn fueled a passion for both journalism and politics.

In 2008, Nelson Lewis started a friendship with noted Washington arts patron Barbara Gordon, who shared his passion for Latin American art. This friendship sparked his involvement in the DC arts scene. Ms. Gordon was, at the time, was the chairman of the Friends of the Art Museum of The Americas of The Organization of American States (OAS). That same year, she appointed Lewis to the board, where he would serve until 2011 as one of the youngest, to date, appointed board members of the organization. His passion for the art of Fernando Botero and the Spanish language and fueled his commitment and desire to promote Latin American and Caribbean art in the United States.
