Nicole is a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), who has been working in this field for over 12 years. Nicole received her Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Missouri, Columbia from the School of Environmental Sciences, with an emphasis in Child Life Therapy. She worked for Rady’s Children’s Hospital of San Diego from 2000 to 2006, providing psychosocial and developmental support to Pediatric patients and families on the Hematology/Oncology Units and with the Solid Organ Transplant Program. During this time Nicole also worked at the Ronald McDonald House, San Diego, implementing the first sibling support program and facilitating Sibshops, a sibling support program for children who have siblings with special needs. In 2006 Nicole came to UC Irvine Medical Center to fulfill the role as the Child Life Educator, supervising the Child Life interns, students, and volunteers as well as to coordinate and facilitate Child Behavior Pathways’ COPE-ing with Toddler Behavior curriculum. Nicole also continues to provide support to Pediatric patients at The Beckman Laser Clinic at UC Irvine. When Nicole isn’t working with children and families she enjoys living the beach lifestyle, playing softball, and being out in nature.
