Jumpstart is a non-profit early education organization that recruits and trains thousands of college students and community volunteers to work with preschool children in low-income neighborhoods, helping them to develop the language, literacy, and social skills they need to succeed in school and in life

Boston Community Corps:

Inspires children to learn, adults to teach, families to become engaged in their child’s education, and communities to progress together.

• Our Corp Members interact with children at 10 different classrooms in Roxbury and Mattapan during the school year.

• Last year (2015) our volunteers offered +12,000 hours of service to over 180 children in Boston.

• Nationally, Jumpstart served 11,300 children in 2015 – 1,000 of whom participated in pilot, innovative, and summer programs.

• 89% of our volunteers live in the city, so members serve in their own communities.
