A native of North Carolina, I earned my bachelor's degree in journalism and mass communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and worked for more than five years as a reporter for daily newspapers in North and South Carolina. My specialty is police and courts reporting. I also hold a master's degree in international affairs from George Washington University and have lived for short periods in Belgium, Germany and Kenya.
Prior to becoming editor for Fort Hunt, I freelanced for Patch sites in Alexandria and Fairfax County. Writing is my passion, and I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life through my reporting.
At home, I'm the proud mother of three feline children - Mina, Lola and John Henry. I'm also a vegan and enjoy cooking meals with no animal products.
