Randy Petro, Mercury Insurance Chief Claims Officer and Vice President

Randy Petro joined Mercury Insurance in 1987 and is currently Chief Claims Officer and Vice President overseeing approximately 2,200 employees in the claims department. His department’s mission is “We resolve claims accurately and efficiently with excellent customer service.”

Petro joined the insurance industry more than 30 years ago after relocating from Ohio to California. He sought a stable career within a growing company and accepted his first position with Mercury Insurance as a Property Damage Adjuster. Since then, he has worked his way through the company, holding more than ten positions, including his currently role heading claims. One of his proudest achievements was when, in 2017, Forbes magazine named Mercury Insurance one of “America’s Best Midsized Employers” – the claims department encompasses about half of Mercury’s employees.

Petro and his wife have three children and three grandchildren. His hobbies and interests include ice hockey, the occasional golf game, traveling with his wife and spending time with his grandchildren.
