Rick Brown is a recently retired 20-year Veteran of the U.S. Army with nearly 25 years of experience in print and broadcast media. He started his career in Southern California as a traffic reporter and now heads his own media communications company.
Rick has worked with–and provided media communications training for–some of the U.S. military's senior-most leaders and those of the international community, including Iraq's Ministry of Defense, and has worked with top media professionals from all of the major news networks.<br> <br> His video and still photography and news pieces have been used by print, television and internet news organizations worldwide and have covered senior U.S. and international government and military leaders.
Rick’s voice has been heard and he has been seen on commercial radio and television from LA to DC, and worldwide throughout the Department of Defense, including providing on-site commentary for NBC during President George W. Bush’s second inauguration.
He covered the Iraq War in 2006-2007 from the battlefield and served as contributing editor for a Washington-insiders newsletter, while simultaneously setting up a public affairs school for the Iraqi government, earning him accolades from senior leaders inside the Pentagon.
Rick also served as Operations Director for DoD’s only journalism and visual information schoolhouse, responsible for training new Servicemembers prior to their deployment to combat locations and elsewhere around the world.
Hailing originally from Los Angeles, Rick lives with his wife, Diana, and their two children in Severn.
