MEGHANN KOPECKY
At SafeLine Health, we strive to empower people and organizations by sharing what epidemiologists and medical researchers have proven to be the best methods to treat problems. Over the last eight months we have turned our attention to mental health, as we have witnessed depression symptoms skyrocket. The pandemic’s impact on our day-to-day lives has created uncomfortable isolation and has fostered feelings of loneliness.
Surprisingly, even in this “information age” where you can Google answers to just about any question, there is very little general understanding on what to do when you are feeling depressed. Most people believe that either taking antidepressants or seeking therapy are their only options. While these can be helpful, science is showing that non-severe cases of depression can be treated on your own. Our program called The Lightbulb Cure begins with a scientifically vetted assessment, which calculates depression levels within a ~90% precision rate, and then serves up bite-sized lessons and short activities that will have you feeling better immediately.
