Salt Lake City School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Salt Lake City is August 21. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Salt Lake City School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/29: No School for Students

October

• 10/19 - 10/20: Professional Conferences
• 10/23: No School for Elementary and Middle School Students

November

• 11/22: No School for Students
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/25 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1 - 1/5: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/15: No School (Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/16: No School for Students

February

• 2/16: No School for Students
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/2: No School for Students
• 3/26 - 3/30: No School (Spring Recess)

April

• 4/27: No School for Students

May

• 5/25: Emergency Makeup Day
• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/6: Last Day of School
