Utah Students Shout Racial Slur, Expletive In Cellphone Video
The district is investigating whether the video was made during the school day or on school grounds as it considers disciplinary options.

PLEASANT VIEW, UT — School officials are investigating after a video surfaced on social media of several high school students in Pleasant View, Utah, shouting a racial slur and expletive. The 10-second cellphone video was recorded by Weber High School students as they sat in a car, officials said Tuesday.
In the video, the students can be heard shouting the expletive and racial epithet. Three are cheerleaders and all appear to be white.
It seems the girls repeated a nonsensical phrase and then uploaded it to an app that played it backward to produce the offensive words, school district spokesman Lane Findlay said. The video was then posted to social media.

School officials were shocked and are taking the matter seriously, Findlay said. The girls were "extremely apologetic" for what happened, he said.
