Essex Center's Beautiful Veterans Day Event Brings Tears

Special Guests from Law Enforcement and Kids Make This a Day To Remember

On Veterans Day November 11 at Essex Center on Park Street in Elizabethtown, New York, the facility held a beautiful luncheon for their veterans. In addition to the full course lunch, members of the local sheriff's department from nearby Lewis came to shake hands with the veterans, delivering heartfelt speeches and handing Certificates of Merit to the veterans.

Children from a local daycare center came to Essex Center to meet and greet the veterans, plus elementary school kids from the Boquet Valley Central School District, Mountain View campus sent a variety of crafts and letters to the vets.

"Our veterans not only mean the world to their families and friend, but they mean so much to the communities in both Essex and Chittenden Counties as well as to our staff and residents here," said Candy Goff, Recreation Director at Essex Center. "The kids from the daycare and from the school are so sweet to have done this for our veterans."
