Amber Alert Canceled For Missing Teen Seen At Virginia Motel

State police say Grace Galliher was located safely and the suspect is in custody.

(Updated at 12:24 p.m. Thursday): MARION, VA — The Amber Alert has been canceled for the 17-year-old teenager from Tennessee who was last seen with a man police say kidnapped her at a motel in Marion, near the North Carolina border.

Virginia State Police said Grace Olivia Galliher was found safe. Her accused abductor, Richard Tester, 52, is in custody after being arrested on a Tennessee kidnapping warrant, the FBI Knoxville, TN, office said.

"An alert motorist spotted the suspect's vehicle about 8:30 this morning and called Bristol, TN Police, who located the SUV and conducted a traffic stop," FBI Knockville tweeted.

Police believe Tester abducted Galliher. They were last seen at a motel off exit 98 along Interstate 81 in Marion about 4 p.m. Tuesday, and they were believed to be traveling north on Interstate 81, police said.

Galliher was reported missing after she was last seen at Food City in Bristol, Tennessee.
