Another Virginia Sears To Close
Sears announced 80 more stores will shutter by March 2019, including one in Virginia.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Sears announced that it is closing 80 more stores. Of the store closings made public on Friday, one is in Virginia.
The stores will host liquidation sales starting in two weeks, according to Sears, and will close for good in late March 2019.
The Charlottesville Sears is the only one in Virginia that will shutter in the latest round of closures. It is located at Fashion Square, 1531 Rio Road East, Charlottesville.

This is the third Virginia Sears store the company has reported in the past three months that it plans to shutter.
Sears Holdings, which owns both Sears and Kmart, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October. At the time, it announced it would close 142 unprofitable locations, including the Fairfax store in Virginia.

The Richmond Sears will shutter in February 2019, the company announced in November as part of a subsequent set of 40 store closings nationwide.
As of April 2019, there will be 11 remaining Sears stores — not including appliance outlets, HomeTown stores or auto centers — left in Virginia:
- Alexandria, 5901 Duke Street
- Chesapeake, Greenbriar Mall, 1401 Greenbrier Parkway
- Dulles, 21000 Dulles Town Circle
- Falls Church, 6211 Leesburg Pike
- Fredericksburg, 100 Spotsylvania Mall
- Glen Allen, 10101 Brook Road
- Manassas, 8200 Sudley Road
- Newport News, 100 Newmarket Fair Mall
- Roanoke, 4812 Valley View Boulevard NE
- Virginia Beach, 4588 Virginia Beach Boulevard
- Winchester, 1850 Apple Blossom Drive
