The West was represented with Mexicali nachos - house fried nachos, shredded Mexi-chicken, black beans, white queso, pico de gallo, shredded lettuce, avocado sour cream, with petit fours and macaroons for dessert.
“Our partnership with the Student Government Association helps us to stay fully engaged with students,” said District Manager Duke Davis. “We’re able to collaborate with their office and have open communication regarding any dining related inquiries from the student body. This helps us to stay aware of what the campus needs are so we can always provide the best services.”
Davis said that donating the food for special events is a way to give back as a token of appreciation for everyone on meal plans.
Throughout the 2020-21 academic year, the dining team partnered with the SGA to foster community between students and dining services.
By maintaining a close relationship with students, dining services has been more readily able to receive feedback and promptly respond to clarify information or resolve issues.
The Sodexo partnership with SGA over the past few years has been such a blessing,” said SGA Director of Events Kayla Caoili, a Liberty University student. “We have gained valuable insight by working together, and it has been nothing but a positive experience.”
Caoili noted that this year has been extremely difficult for events due to the pandemic. Many events SGA hosted would not have been possible without the partnership with dining.
“Students really appreciate the events we have put together this year,” said Caoili. “Food is a major factor and Sodexo provided us with the resources necessary to ensure event success. They have gone above and beyond to make campus dining involved with campus activities on campus.”
