Annandale Is 4th Most Affordable City To Buy A Car In Virginia
A new study says Annandale is more affordable than most places in Virginia to buy a car.

ANNANDALE, VA—It's no secret that Northern Virginia's cost of living compared to the rest of the state. There is one area where it beats out the rest of the state.
In a new study by Autolist.com, Annandale and other Northern Virginia cities dominate the top affordable cities to purchase a car in Virginia. Annandale ranks fourth statewide, and it costs $840 less on average than a comparable car in Virginia. Similarly, Fairfax County is the second most affordable county for car purchases.
The top five affordable cities in Virginia to buy a car all hail from Northern Virginia:

- Ashburn: $1,043 below than the Virginia average
- Leesburg: $954 below than the Virginia average
- Reston: $915 below than the Virginia average
- Annandale: $912 below than the Virginia average
- Alexandria: $907 below than the Virginia average

In comparison, Richmond ranked 16th, Virginia Beach ranked 18th, Charlottesville ranked 20th and Roanoke ranked 24th.
Based on August 2017 prices, the study looked at 198,000 listings across 129 counties and 587 cities in the state. It also pinpoints which cars offer the most savings in each city and across the state, which may not necessarily be the cheapest model. In Virginia, the top five money savers are:
- Porsche 911
- Land Rover Range Rover
- BMW X3
- Acura TLX
- Lexus GX 460
