Annandale Student Wins 3rd at Art Competition
Nahtalie Bowdre won third place for her piece, 'Contamination'. Hundreds of students entered into the Global Issues Network Conference.

From the Art Institutes: Amazing, creative, and innovative expression of global issues in today's society was this year’s theme at the Global Issues Network Conference’s Art Competition in Washington, DC. Hundreds of students from the region entered into the competition that was designed for students to submit a piece of artwork that demonstrates their perspective on a global issue that they cared about.
Annandale High School student Nahtalie Bowdre won third place for her piece entitled Contamination. Bowdre completed College Bound courses at AiW.
“This art piece explains the struggles of hunger around the world and here in America we have all these fast food restaurants that people go to but while they are eating they throw away a portion of the food,” Bowdre explained. “All the wasted food could have gone to people who were hungry, but sadly the food gets dirty and covered in feces, not being able to be eaten.”
