Antiques store to close: big sales
The property is expected to be sold to a developer.

Kruger’s Antiques Plus, which has been at 7130 Little River Turnpike for nearly 40 years, is being forced out of business, says owner Kurt Kruger, so the store is slashing the price of every item in an attempt to sell its inventory.
Everything will be half price, Kruger says. A mahogany secretary from 1840 has been reduced from $7,000 to $2,000. There are also lots of dining tables, chairs, and other furniture from the 19th century. There are thousands of books on sale for $1.
The 2,000 square foot building is also filled to the brim with record albums; old copies of Life and other magazines; paintings; and small items, such as jewelry and Hummel figurines.

“We’ve got a lot of stuff, and we have to sell it all somehow,” Kruger says. The shop is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11-6 on Sundays.
Kruger’s has to vacate the building by the end of February, as the landowner hopes to sell the property to a developer. Learn more here.
