Children of Loss Model to Raise Funds For Others

PRESS RELEASE: CHILDREN OF LOSS MODEL FOR HOPE FOR GRIEVING FAMILIES

FAIRFAX, VA—Hope For Grieving Families (HFGF) will host the inaugural Fall Fashion Fundraiser to promote and raise funds for their mission of supporting and connecting families with children in the Greater DC area who have suffered the loss of a parent, parental figure, or sibling.

The event is sponsored by and will be held at Lord & Taylor Fair Oaks Mall October 19, 2019 from 1p.m. to 3p.m.

Models will be the children and parents HFGF serves.

Hope For Grieving Families offers fun, enriching activities for families to enjoy and connect with other families who have also suffered a loss. “The loss of a family member and the grief that follows is alienating.” says Sammi Hawkins, Director of HFGF. “We create a community where the kids and the parents don’t feel alone in their grief journey.”

Fall fashions for children, men and women will be highlighted from the latest trends from Lord & Taylor. Hair services for the models are being donated by Hair Cuttery.

The fashion show will be emceed by entertainer Stan Kang.

“The Fall Fashion Fundraiser serves to highlight the beauty, strength and resilience of the children and adults who are faced, unwillingly, with grief.” says Becky Wagner-Lawson, founder and Board president of HFGF. “Through interacting and experiencing fun things together with others who are suffering too, people learn they are not experiencing grief alone and it is okay to have fun and enjoy life again.”

A ticket auction with prizes from spas, restaurants, wineries, theatres and more will round out the event.
