J-Fest, Puppet Show, Christmas and More

Here are five things to look forward to in Annandale this week.

  1. Holiday Closures: Many Fairfax County offices will be closed on Dec. 24 and Dec. 25.
  2. Christmas! Wednesday, Dec. 25 is Christmas Day. We'll have a list of activities happening in our area that day on Tuesday.
  3. Wild Things Puppet Show: Appropriate for children ages 4-10-years-old, there will be three puppet shows performed by naturalists at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 27. This event costs $5. Details.
  4. J-Fest: Don’t celebrate Christmas? The Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia is hosting their annual J Fest on Christmas Day. The event is at 11 a.m. on 8900 Little River Turnpike in Fairfax. There will be games, arts and crafts, a moon bounce, and kosher food will be served.
  5. Hava Nagila Documentary: Also on Christmas Day, view Hava Nagila (The Movie), a “documentary romp through the history, mystery and meaning of the great Jewish standard,” event organizers say. The event is at 3 p.m. on Christmas Day at the Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia at 8900 Little River Turnpike in Fairfax. Find out more information
