LINCOLNIA, VA — Lidl is planning to open a store at 6548 Little River Turnpike in the Lincolnia area. The store will open on Wednesday, Sept. 9.

Lidl is a German discount grocery store chain with its U.S. headquarters based in Arlington, Virginia. This will be Lidl's 16th store in the DC region.

"It is exciting to see the continued growth of Lidl in Fairfax County. In all corners of our County, there needs to be equitable access to the resources that are critical for a community’s success," said Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay in a statement. "Access to fresh food is one of those needs. During this current economic and health crisis, it is important that families know they have a place within their community that provides the healthy, high-quality, and affordable food options we all need."
