New Year's Weekend Concert: Splendor of Trumpet & Piano

Free concert featuring local professional musicians

Begin your new year with a musical treat on Sunday, Jan. 4, 4:00 pm, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church on Columbia Pike. Enjoy a showcase trumpet and piano concert, featuring Shenandoah Conservatory faculty member Sergeant Major (Ret) Dr. Chuck Seipp on trumpet accompanied by Shenandoah faculty and U.S. Army Band pianist, Dr. Joel Ayau. The program has something for everyone, with works by Bach, Handel, McKee, Clarke, Gershwin, Levowitz and Sousa. As an added treat, the program will feature a multimedia tribute to veterans and the military.

For 32 years, Dr. Seipp was a Senior Soloist and Concert Band Group Leader in The U.S. Army Band, Pershing’s Own. He has performed locally with the National Symphony, Orchestra, Washington Opera House Orchestra, Washington Ballet Orchestra, Washington Bach Consort, and leads The Commonwealth Brass Quintet.

The concert is free, with light refreshments afterward. For more information, contact the St. Alban’s church office at 703-256-2966.
