The NOVA-Annandale Symphony Orchestra, joined by the Northern Virginia Chorale and the NOVA-Annandale Chorale, will present an evening of classical favorites in celebration of the orchestra’s 20th anniversary. Program Highlights will include Symphony No. 1, Beethoven; The Hebrides Overture (Fingal’s Cave), Mendelssohn; Songs from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess; along with Song of Democracy by Howard Hanson and American Salute by Morton Gould. Conducted by Christopher Johnston, Music Director, NOVA-Annandale Symphony Orchestra and Robert S. Webb, Jr., Artistic Director for the chorales.
The NOVA-Annandale Symphony Orchestra is northern Virginia’s finest college-community orchestra, with nearly 80 multi-generational musicians and an impressive depth of experience and musical talent. Concerts are presented with the support of NOVA-Annandale Community College, the Reunion Music Society and the Arts Council of Fairfax County.
