Weekender: See Roller Derby Teams Battle in Dulles
Check out these events happening in Southern Fairfax County and the surrounding area this weekend.

NOVA Military Open House. Northern Virginia Community College in Woodbridge will host an open house for the military community on Saturday. Those interested in going to school can learn more about the college and learn more about maximizing veterans benefits and financial aid. Saturday, July 27, 10 a.m.
Tot Shabbat at Adat Reyim. Bring family and friends for worship, song, movement, teaching moments, and "Ruach," to help kids learn more about Shabbat. Saturday, July 27, 10 a.m.
The Sun Will Come Out .... This Weekend. In Fairfax City, the City of Fairfax Theatre Company is putting on Annie the Musical, featuring two full casts that include an adorable set of 4-year-old twins, and Virginia’s own State Sen. Chap Petersen (D-34th) who will play President Theodore Roosevelt.
Burke Historical Society Screens "The Road to Happiness." The Burke Historical Society will screen "The Road to Happiness," a 1924 silent film made in Fairfax County by the Ford Motor Company as part of a PR campaign to shape public opinion to support government investment in more hard-surface, all-weather roads. Sunday, July 28, 4:30 p.m.
Never seen a roller derby bout? This weekend is your chance. Some of the best skaters from around the region will join NOVA Roller Derby on July 27 for a free doubleheader at Michael and Son Sportsplex at Dulles. The first bout is an all-female bout that will pit “The Pretty Princesses” against “The Evil Queens.” The second bout is co-ed and will have the “Super Heroes” battling it out against the “Super Villains. “ Both teams will be made up of a mix of NOVA Roller Derby skaters, D.C. Rollergirls, Freedom Belles, Chesapeake Roller Derby, Dominion Derby Girls, and more. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. at 21610 Atlantic Boulevard in Sterling, VA. The first whistle will be at 5:00 p.m.
