Adoptable Arlington Pet: Beanie The Sweet Kitty

ARLINGTON, VA — If you're thinking about adopting a furry friend, consider a local humane society like the Animal Welfare League of Arlington. The shelter works with private rescue groups and other shelters to place animals where they have the best chance for adoption.

The Animal Welfare League of Arlington rescues dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, rats and more.

One of these cats is Beanie, an 8-year-old domestic shorthair. Beanie is a large, grey cat who is a little shy.

"Beanie is a sweet, sensitive girl who will come across as a little bit shy at first. But once you get to know her, you'll discover the cuddly, friendly lady underneath. She likes to be petted, but she's more comfortable if you let her approach you. Don't worry--she'll show you exactly how she wants you to pet her. She seems interested in toys, but she's still a little bit afraid of them in the shelter," her description states. "We think Beanie will do best in a quiet household with adopters who will allow her to warm up at her own pace. But we don't think it'll take long for you to see the wonderful, loving kitty we've gotten to know."
