ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2021-07060220, 2400 block of N. Harrison Street. At approximately 11:55 p.m. on July 6, police were dispatched to the late report of a suspicious person. Upon arrival, it was determined that at approximately 11:20 p.m., the female suspect entered the business and attempted to steal merchandise. As the suspect attempted to leave without paying, a store employee confronted her and prevented her from leaving. The suspect became aggressive and verbally threatened to stab the employee before leaving the area on foot without the merchandise. No weapon was displayed. The suspect is described as a Black female, 40 to 45 years old, 5’6” to 5’7” tall, 160 to 180 pounds wearing a light blue dress with white strips. The investigation is ongoing.

ATTEMPTED ROBBERY, 2021-07060230, Campbell Avenue at S. Quincy Street. At approximately 11:32 p.m. on July 6, police were dispatched to the report of an attempted robbery. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim was walking his dog in the area when the suspect approached and demanded that he give him his dog. When the victim refused, the suspect verbally threatened him and implied he had a gun. The victim began running in the opposite direction, at which point the suspect began to follow after him. The victim was then able to call dispatch. No injuries were reported and no weapon was displayed. Arriving officers canvassed the surrounding area with negative results. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’8” tall with a thin build, wearing a white t-shirt, black jeans and red and tan sneakers. The investigation is ongoing.
