Arlington Dogs May Be the Target of Intentional Poisoning
Two dogs were sent to the hospital after eating sausages stuffed with pills on Sunday.

Signs reading ‘Warning: Someone is poisoning dogs in our area’ have been been posted in one Arlington neighborhood.
Dog owners have reported incidents of sausage treats found on the street with pills in them, NBC Washington reports.
A Sunday morning walk in Arlington turned into a medical emergency for 5-year-old Chihuahua-dachshund Bonnie. The owner, Scott Kaye, took Bonnie on a walk around the North Columbus Street and 23rd Street area where the pup found and ate what looked like a piece of sausage, according to ABC 7. Shortly after Bonnie was taken to the hospital where she was reportedly to be the second dog on the block to be poisoned.

The neighborhood was searched later that day and chunks of sausage stuffed with pills were found on the cross streets from 22nd to 26th along North Columbus Street, ABC 7 reports.
The Animal Welfare League of Arlington is testing the sausage, according to ABC 7. Animal cruelty charges may be filed if intentional poisoning can be proven and suspects found.
