ARLINGTON, VA — An Arlington man pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on Monday for killing a man who intervened in a violent domestic dispute in October 2018, according to The Washington Post.

Under the guilty plea, Michael Nash, 29, will spend up to 45 years in prison for killing Julio Patricio Salazar, 54, a Bolivian immigrant. Nash agreed to plead guilty on the day he was scheduled to go to trial in Arlington Circuit Court on the murder charge and other charges, the Post reported.

In a 2019 court hearing, Nash’s then girlfriend testified that in the evening of Oct. 18, 2018, he pushed her to the ground and began beating her, stripping her of her clothing and touching her sexually in a park near South George Mason Drive and Columbia Pike in Arlington.
