Arlington Restaurant Inspections: 25 Violations At 12 Locations

ARLINGTON, VA — Officials from Arlington County Public Health inspected food preparation and storage businesses in Arlington County. From April 12-20, officials inspected 62 businesses, of which 12 restaurants were in violation.

Violations noted below — such as the eight at 7-Eleven Store #10716B — involve those issues that would typically require a re-inspection if not corrected or those that are more likely than other violations to contribute to food contamination.

"In our experience, it is unrealistic to expect that a complex, full-service food operation can routinely avoid any violations," according to Virginia Department of Health's website.

As part of their regular duties, Arlington Public Health inspectors determine whether county restaurants are observing Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam's COVID-19 restrictions involving proper social distancing, capacity limits, and the late-night sale of alcohol.

Patch recently published a report based on Public Health information acquired from Arlington Country through a Freedom of Information Act request. The report found that county inspectors cited 29 Arlington restaurants for violating COVID-19 restrictions during the first three months of 2021.
