Arlington School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Arlington is September 5 for grades K-12 and September 6 for VPI / Pre-K Special Education. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Arlington School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/5: First Day of School for Grades K-12
• 9/6: First Day of School for VPI / Pre-K Special Education

October

• 10/9: Columbus Day - No School
• 10/18: Early Release for Middle and High School
• 10/25: Early Release for ES
• 10/26: VPI / Pre-K Special Education
• 10/27: P-T Conferences (No School for ES/MS)

November

• 11/7: No School for All Students—Grade Preparation Day
• 11/10: Veterans Day - No School
• 11/22-24: Thanksgiving Break

December

• 12/13: Early Release for MS and HS
• 12/22-29: Winter Break

January

• 1/1: New Year's Day - No School
• 1/10: Early Release ES
• 1/15: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - No School
• 1/26: No School for All Students—Grade Preparation Day

February

• 2/14: Early Release Day for ES, MS, and HS
• 2/19: Presidents' Day - No School

March

• 3/1: ES P-T Conferences (ES Early Release)
• 3/1: Early Release for Elementary
