Updated: Arlington Schools To Reopen For Distance Learning
Arlington Public Schools are set to reopen Thursday, after being closed because of a network outage on Wednesday.
Updated (Oct. 21, 8:30 p.m.): The service provider for Arlington County Schools repaired a damaged cable that forced school officials to cancel distance learning for student on Wednesday. APS network services were restored late Wednesday morning and schools will reopen for distance learning on Thursday.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington Public Schools cancelled distance learning for students on Wednesday due to a network outage, according to a post on the APS website.

Arlington County's official website has been out of service since Tuesday afternoon, due to a major fiber cut, according to APS' website. The school system's internet service provider was unable to restore service so that it could continue distance learning on Wednesday.
The outage does not affect meal services, which will continue as planned. Likewise, services at the Aquatics Centers are unaffected.
