Arlington Snowfall: Here's What To Expect Tuesday
Snow is headed our way Tuesday evening, but how much can you expect to get? We have the breakdown.

ARLINGTON, VA -- With snowfall hours away in Arlington, the final forecasts are in. And right now, it's looking like light snow that is going to cause headaches on the commute home.
We're not going to get the 10 inches we saw earlier this month -- instead, we may get only a coating, according to local forecasters.
The National Weather Service is calling for less than an inch for most of the D.C. area, although Reston and Herndon fall in the range of 2 inches in their forecast. A boom would be 3 inches and a bust would be nothing at all.

The Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang makes a similar prediction, calling for a coating to 2 inches for the D.C. region. A boom would be 4 inches in their scenario, while a bust would be nothing at all.
So it appears that most likely we'll get a light coating of snow in our region. But it will be much more of a headache than the last storm, because this snow will be falling during the evening commute on a weekday, and not overnight on a weekend.

Update: Today from 3 to 7p is big concern & we advise being flexible w/ plans, allowing plenty of extra time for commuting & if possible teleworking or using metro. Snow could be heavy w/ low visibility, slippery roads & significant traffic delays. More: https://t.co/ykSQvSe4FN pic.twitter.com/L3DqHMM9rl

Whatever snow we do get is likely to stick around. Temperatures are going to take a huge plunge into the teens and possible even single digits in the middle of this week as a blast of cold air from the Arctic freezes the Midwest and Northeast. Temperatures will warm up by the weekend, but expect more of this sort of weather throughout the month of February, forecasters warn.
