Charity Highlights Restaurants in Honor of Black History Month
Hearts of Empowerment used its social media platform to highlight two black owned restaurants during Black History Month.
Arlington, VA - In honor of Black History Month, nonprofit Hearts of Empowerment used its social media platform to tour its audience of the different black owned restaurants that exist across Washington D.C. Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing their central role in our history. This project allowed for local restaurants to feature their flavors, mission, and history.
Hearts of Empowerment had the opportunity of featuring 2 of our most respected black-owned restaurants in the DC area, Roaming Rooster and Oohh’s and Aahh’s.
In early 2015, Roaming Rooster was founded in Washington, D.C. by a family with a unique concept. The idea of a food truck with fried chicken that you could feel good about eating: free-range, grain-fed chicken served fresh every day. Roaming Roosters mission is to provide quality comfort food that our customers can feel good about eating. Their recipes are sure to spark an appetite in every lover of fried chicken!
