2 Arlington Nordstrom Stores To Reopen Thursday
Some Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores across the country are reopening later this week.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington residents hoping for a little retail therapy will soon have their desires granted, at least as far as one local clothing chain is concerned.
The Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack stores in Pentagon City will reopen for customers on Thursday, according to a company release.
"The past several months have been unlike anything we've ever experienced, and we're working hard to evolve so we can continue to show up in a meaningful way for you, our employees and communities," Pete and Erik Nordstrom said in a blog post.

The two Arlington Nordstrom locations are:
- Nordstrom The Fashion Centre at Pentagon City, 1400 S. Hayes St., Arlington
- Nordstrom Rack Pentagon Centre, 1201 South Hayes St., Suite A, Arlington
The company, like other retailers, closed their stores earlier in the spring in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Now, as many states begin to reopen, Nordstrom has started to do the same. With the opening of three outlets in South Carolina on May 6, Nordstrom began to gradually reopen its stores nationwide.

The company has taken the following steps as part of its reopening plan:
- Conducting health screenings for our employees
- Providing face coverings for employees and customers
- Taking steps to allow for social distancing of six feet or more, including limiting the number of employees and customers in the store
- Increasing cleaning and sanitization
- Modifying the fitting room experience
- Continuing to offer contactless curbside services at our full-line stores
- Pausing or adapting high-touch services and customer events
- Keeping tried on or returned merchandise off the salesfloor for a period of time
- Altering hours of operation
- Adding dividers at the registers
"We want to be sure the approach we're taking to reopen our stores is thoughtful, and that we're creating a store environment that's safe for everyone," Pete and Erik Nordstrom said.
