ARLINGTON, VA — A Thursday morning crash shut down the westbound lanes of Washington Boulevard near Ballston, the county said in an alert that went out at 9:02 a.m.

The crash happened in the 5300 block of Washington Boulevard, prompting the closure between N. George Mason Drive to N. Harrison Street.

Roadways were reopened about an hour later.
