Crystal City Apartment Building Officially Opens at Old Post Office Location

M.flats has officially opened to residents a block from the Crystal City Metro station.

ARLINGTON, VA — The new "m.flats" apartment building has finally opened, years after the old post office was torn down to make way for the new development at the corner of 18th and Eads streets in Crystal City.

The 11-story, 198-unit building, which is located at 505 18th Street South, has officially opened its doors to residents, according to a statement from developer Kettler on Oct. 6.

The building boasts easy access to the Crystal City Metro station, as well as a rooftop pool and a modern interior design.

"m.flats will provide a spark that will help Crystal City become the vibrant community we all envision," said Robert C. Kettler, Chairman and Chief Executive Office of Kettler, in the statement. "It not only expands the number of residences, but takes Crystal City a step closer to becoming a thriving transit-oriented, walkable neighborhood."

The post office was relocated to S. Fern Street back in 2011.
