Crystal City Restaurant Near Amazon HQ To Open In Mid-April

The Freshman, a Crystal City restaurant that will be a short walk from Amazon's new headquarters offices, will be opening in mid-April.

ARLINGTON, VA — The Freshman, a restaurant in Crystal City that will be a short walk from Amazon’s new headquarters offices, is scheduled to open in mid-April.

Arlington resident and area restaurateur Nick Freshman signed a lease for a new restaurant in Crystal City in 2019, the first retail lease announced by developer JBG Smith following Amazon’s announcement that it would be locating its headquarters expansion in Arlington, WTOP reported Friday.

The Freshman, located at 2011 Crystal Drive, will have indoor seating for 120, plus 50 additional seats on the outdoor patio, according to WTOP. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner made with local ingredients, along with tea coffee, and cocktails.

The menu will include “well-thought-out, composed dishes” such as a classic omelet and half roasted chicken, Freshman told Northern Virginia magazine. The restaurant also will have vegan options on the menu.
