Driver With Firearm Arrested Following Police Stop: Report

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested 26-year-old Davon Eady of Alexandria Friday after he was observed driving erratically and shifting lanes on eastbound Washington Boulevard, according to the daily crime report.

Around 3:11 p.m., officers conducted a traffic stop after the Eady stopped abruptly on the shoulder of the road, police say. As they approached the vehicle, officers saw that Eady had a firearm resting on his lap, halfway out of the holster, and facing him. After giving a command to Eady, the officer took the firearm from him.

Following a preliminary investigation, police determined Eady had a suspended license and the vehicle was displaying improper tags.

Police charged Eady with brandishing a firearm and assault on law enforcement officer. He also received Virginia Uniform Summonses for suspended license, improper registration, failure to maintain lane, following too closely, and failure to wear seatbelt.
