Montague Street was struck by a car heading eastbound on Route 50 Saturday morning at approximately 1:24 a.m. The man was then catapulted into the westbound lanes of Route 50, where he was struck again. Police declared him dead on the scene. The roadway was shut down until 5 a.m. while officers investigated the scene of the death, a spokesman said.

Arlington County Police detectives are waiting on autopsy results before identifying the man; police describe the victim as being a white male in his 30s. A spokesman said Wednesday that detectives were waiting for autopsy results before identifying the man.
