Here's When We Could Next See Snow In Arlington

ARLINGTON, VA -- It certainly feels like winter now, so when does that translate into snow for the Arlington area? It could be as soon as this weekend.

Temperatures took a brutal plunge on Monday, and it will be a bit more tolerable on Tuesday but still quite cold with temperatures topping out in the middle 30s by the afternoon. The temperatures will rise into the 40s as rain enters the forecast on Wednesday, and Thursday could hit the 50s, before temperatures dip back into the 20s by the overnight hours.

Friday will be chilly but sunny, as will Saturday, and then Sunday is when we might get our next snow threat as clouds roll into the area. There is a decent chance for snow Sunday night into Monday as a coastal storm comes close to our area, but right now it's too far out to say with any certainty.

A chance of rain, mainly after 1pm. Cloudy, with a high near 52. South wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Rain. Low around 48. South wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
Thursday
Rain before 1pm, then a chance of showers after 1pm. High near 50. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
