Leesburg Fire Company Receives Free Meals on Thanksgiving

Nonprofit Hearts of Empowerment provided Leesburg Fire & Rescue squads Thanksgiving meals as token of appreciation

November 30, 2020 - Nonprofit Hearts of Empowerment has teamed up with Leesburg Based Catering company Lady K’s to provide meals to the Leesburg Fire Company this holiday season. This effort comes at a time when many of those that keep us safe are especially in the line of danger. Many won't be able to have a thanksgiving dinner with their families. So, as a way to pay it forward to the firehouse family, Hearts of Empowerment wanted to say thank you for their daily sacrifices so that others may stay safe.

Hearts of Empowerment Staff visited their firehouse to deliver Thanksgiving cooked meals. They received a tour of the facilities and apparatus from the staff of the two firehouses in Leesburg, which has 21 firefighters on call at a time.

“On behalf of the Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company and the Loudoun County Volunteer Rescue Squad, we want to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Correy Faciane and the incredible staff at the Hearts of Empowerment, Inc. Their generosity in providing our hard working first responders a wonderful meal the week of Thanksgiving is much appreciated during this difficult time. We wish that the friends and family of Hearts of Empowerment, Inc. find themselves in good health and spirits during this Holiday season.” - Matthew Myers, Fire Chief Leesburg Volunteer Fire Company

Hearts of Empowerment was able to fund the projects of other charities’ Thanksgiving programs. Funding was given to Leesburg nonprofit, Empowered Mums, in order to assist single mothers in the area. Additional funding was provided to nonprofit, For The Love of Others, who provided meals to 280 families and The PUSO Foundation who helped feed 126 people in South East, Washington D.C.

Hearts of Empowerment is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping other charities raise awareness for their mission and maximize their fundraising potential through event planning and strategic marketing.
