Local Developer Bringing Multi-Family Housing to Georgetown

D.C. developer Hashim Hassan is buying up real estate on Wisconsin Avenue.

A Washington, D.C. developer is planning on bringing lots of multifamily homes to Georgetown, according to a report.

Hashim Hassan of Inle Development has snatched up two properties in upper Georgetown, buying 1728 Wisconsin Ave. NW for $900,000, just a few months after paying $1.1 million for nearby 1659 Wisconsin Ave., Washington Business Journal reported.

Both buildings will probably have restaurants on the ground floor with two stories of residential on top of it -- and the report indicated he's thinking about grabbing some additional properties in the same area.

The 1728 location was home to P.O. Boxes Etc. and is sandwiched between two-story brick buildings. The space at 1659 was home to an antiques shop, and is also located in area with two-story buildings.

Inle Development's website describes Hashim as "one of the most active real estate entrepreneurs in the Washington Metropolitan Area" over the past decade. He has owned more than 200,000 square feet of both residential and commercial space.
