Man Pleads Guilty To Theft From Arlington Postal Boxes: Report

A man pleaded guilty to stealing mail from the boxes outside the N. George Mason Drive post office and other boxes across the county.

ARLINGTON, VA — A man has pleaded guilty to stealing mail for more than a year from Postal Service boxes in Arlington, including the boxes outside the N. George Mason Drive post office, ARLNow reported Friday.

Aaron Kyle Johnson pleaded guilty in Alexandria federal court in late May in connection to the scheme, according to ARLNow. Johnson was of one of five people implicated in the scheme. Johnson and his co-conspirators allegedly stole mail from blue mailboxes around Arlington, including those outside the post offices in Buckingham and on N. George Mason Drive, using a USPS master key, according to ARLNow. Johnson’s sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 24, the news site reported.

Johnson and the four other suspects were not Post Service employees as many Arlington County residents suspected when they first found out their mail had gone missing after dropping it off in the blue boxes outside the N. George Mason Drive post office and other post offices in the county.
