Massive $46 Million Apartment Building Coming to Ballston: Report

The 550,000-square-foot, 491-apartment building will go before the Arlington Planning Commission this month.

A massive $46 million development site may soon be coming to Ballston, and developer Saul Centers Inc. has reportedly finalized the design for this mammoth facility in advance of putting it before the Arlington Planning Commission in June.

The proposed 550,000-square-foot, 491-unit apartment project built over retail space, including a grocery store, will feature multiple buildings ranging from 12 stories to five stories along Glebe Road in downtown Ballston, according to a Washington Business Journal report.

The project will also include about 800 parking spaces and three residential lobbies, with corridors connecting the buildings. It will have a large second-story courtyard, a rooftop pool, a bikeshare station and a large electrical transformer, according to the report.
