Missing: District Man, 78, Last Seen In Arlington
James Oliver was reported missing Thursday after he was last spotted walking on a North Arlington street.

ARLINGTON, VA — Several police departments in the Washington, D.C., region alerted the public Thursday night that an elderly District man has been missing since Wednesday afternoon, when he was seen walking down a street in North Arlington. The Virginia State Police issued a Senior Alert for James Oliver, 78, on behalf of the Washington Metropolitan Police Department.
Oliver is described as a 6-foot-tall white man with blue eyes and gray hair who weighs about 190 pounds.
He was last seen at around 3 p.m. Wednesday, walking near the intersection of North Wakefield Street and 24th Street, off Old Dominion Drive, the state police said. He was wearing a blue blazer, silver shirt, pink necktie and blue jeans.

Oliver "suffers from a cognitive impairment, and his disappearance is believed to pose a credible threat to his health and safety," the state police said in a statement.
