New 18-Story Building Planned For Pentagon City: Report
The Amazon HQ2 decision reportedly may be accelerating a plan to build a new apartment complex in Pentagon City.

ARLINGTON, VA -- It didn't take long to witness the effects of Amazon's announcement that it would be moving into Crystal City: a new report indicates that plans are accelerating to build an 18-story building in Pentagon City next door.
Urban Turf reports that an LCDR subsidiary has applied for a site plan amendment to build an 18-story building that would feature apartments on top of retail at 400 11th Street S. Currently, that location is just a parking lot and a building that houses Verizon equipment.
The new building would have 285 residential units, underground parking space for 114 vehicles and bicycles, and 12,194 square feet of retail.

The area is part of east Pentagon City, which would be included in the "National Landing" designation where Amazon plans to locate 25,000 employees for its second headquarters. Potomac Yard in Alexandria is also part of National Landing.
