New Weather Alert for Severe Storms Tuesday in Arlington

Hot temperatures isn’t the only trouble in the forecast Tuesday.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11 p.m. for the entire region across Northern Virginia, according to the National Weather Service.

“Damaging wind gusts and large hail are the primary threats,” according to the NWS.

Thunderstorms will also contain very heavy rainfall and localized flooding is possible.

A heat advisory continues for most of Northern Virginia through 7 p.m.

The chance for isolated severe thunderstorms will return on Thursday, according to the NWS.
