Nonprofit Donates Bikes to Help DC Area Youth.

This past Thursday, April 29th, nonprofit, Hearts of Empowerment, received a generous donation of 20 bicycles from DelRay Tower Apartments. The organization was able to use its vast network in order to relocate them and ultimately donate them to Gearin’ Up Bicycles’, a nonprofit organization in Washington D.C.

Gearin’ Up Bicycles’ purpose is to create career development opportunities and teach essential workplace skills to youth from under-served communities, while encouraging cycling as a practical, healthy means of transportation. Gearin’ Up provides access to quality, affordable, used bicycles for those in need and hosts various community outreach programs throughout the year.

Hearts of Empowerment believes that second chances are important, and a simple bicycle can jumpstart a new journey.

The organization would like to thank DelRay Tower Apartments for providing the 20 bicycles in order to make a difference in our community.
