Nonprofit Teaches Youth Around The Kitchen
A Parent Appreciation Night was held by nonprofit Hearts of Empowerment and youth residents of Wesley Housing Apartments.
Recently Hearts of Empowerment and its partner, Housing Up, held an event to better serve the residents of Webster Garden Apartments in Washington DC.
Along with the children and parents of Webster Garden, the organization hosted a Parent Appreciation Night. Multiple families joined the Executive Team and volunteers for a night of fun. The Hearts of Empowerment team was able to spend time with the youth and provide insight on the importance of cooking, as they prepared a meal for their parents. Together they were able to teach them not only how to roll their own pizza dough but the valuable lessons that come with being in the kitchen: Health, Family, Culture, Independency.
