Opera NOVA concert to feature 14-year-old student

Dec. 14 concert at Walker Chapel also features her teacher plus artistic director Jose Sacin

Fourteen-year-old Lizzy Burkholder will be among the singers at a concert at Walker Chapel in Arlington on Saturday, Dec. 14.

Lizzy, an 8th grader at Rivendell School in Arlington, is an example of the young singers that Opera NOVA is trying to develop as it promotes low-cost arts programs for children, seniors and others.

She has three brothers and three sisters who love to sing with her. Some of her hobbies include hiking, violin and reading good books.

Joining Lizzy at the 4 p.m. concert will be her teacher Laura Snyderman, and NOVA’s artistic director, Jose Sacin. The concert will include opera favorites, other classical music, and Broadway fare.

Admission is $20, but $25 for a NOVA membership too. For those 65 and over the cost is $10, or $15 with membership. Reservations are encouraged at mcdm1@verizon.net or 703-536-7557.
